EOS is an industry sponsoring partner of the University of Queensland’s Women in Engineering (WE) Program. On the 19th of May, UQ’s WE visited St Margaret’s Anglican Girls School for their Broadening Horizons Conference. St Margaret’s Anglican Girls School is a private girls’ school in Brisbane’s northside.
For the past 4 years, the school runs this conference for their Year 10 students as they make informed decisions about their study and work options beyond school. This year, with other industry partners and the WE team, I was invited to deliver six back-to-back rotating career pathway workshops to over 120 Year 10 students. The 20-minute sessions were on the topic “So you’re interested in a career in….” to expose Year 10 students to Engineering as a potential career pathway, and I was able to the share with them my journey as an engineer.
